FAQ

frequently asked question

We know getting a tattoo for the first time is scary, so here are some of our frequently asked questions to make sure you’re completely prepared for whats about to come!

What is the wait time for a booking?

Toni & Jess usually have a 2-3 month wait on appointments however last minute cancellations do come up from time to time, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with your ideas. Brittany has a shorter wait time however she is currently completing her Fine Arts degree so her booking availabilities are mostly afternoons or weekends.

Where should I park?

The most reliable parking is at the Newton Carpark on Karangahape road and this is only 6 minutes walk from the studio. On street parking is available around the studio, however depending on the time of day this can be limited. Also be mindful that some areas are 2hr only parks and this is patrolled regularly.

What does your studio charge?

It is hard to advise exact details on price as each artists works differently, but to narrow it down a bit… our studios minimum charge is $180 and maximum full day rate is $1100.

When will I see my design?

In most cases your artist will have your design ready for you on the day of your appointment.

What if i don’t like the design, am I able to change it?

If you don't like what your artist has drawn or there's something you would like changed, we can make small adjustments to the design on the day of your appointment.

If your artist has to re-draw more than half of the piece or major elements of the idea have changed, there will be an additional drawing fee and the appointment may have to be rescheduled. To avoid this it is best to be as clear and informative as possible in the booking stages so that your artist knows exactly what you are wanting and can draw accordingly.

What if I change my design idea prior to my appointment?

If you do have a change of mind regarding your design that is completely ok. However all bookings are organised based on estimated consult/stencil/tattoo time, so do keep in mind that a change of design may result in your artist needing to reschedule your booking.

How do I make payment on the day of my appointment?

Payment is preferred in cash, please organise this prior to your appointment as we do not have an ATM close by.

What should I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Be sure to get a good nights sleep the evening prior to your appointment and avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol. Have a good meal before coming in for your tattoo and if you are booked in for a long session bringing some snacks with you is always a good idea.

What should I wear to my tattoo appointment?

Comfortable loose clothing is the best when getting tattooed. Please avoid wearing light coloured clothes, there is a high chance that you may get ink on them during the tattoo process.
